Mr. Omar Mohammed Omar Al-Amoudi is the father of a refugee family of six who have been living in Malaysia since 2018. With very limited resources, the family has struggled to cope with the hardships of life away from home. Today, however, they are facing a trial far beyond their ability to bear: their father and main source of support is battling cancer, while the family has no stable income to cover the cost of his treatment.
Mr. Omar’s suffering began with severe fatigue and persistent exhaustion, followed by abdominal pain and heaviness, as well as significant weight loss. As his condition worsened, he underwent medical examinations and CT scans at KPJ Kajang Specialist Hospital. The results brought devastating news to his family: he had been diagnosed with primary liver cancer, specifically Hepatocellular Carcinoma, at BCLC Stage B, with multiple tumours affecting both lobes of the liver and a severely elevated AFP tumour marker level of approximately 6,000.
Since that day, the family has been consumed by one question: How can we provide him with treatment before his condition deteriorates further?
His son is currently the family’s sole breadwinner. However, he does not have a permanent job and relies on temporary daily work that is available only occasionally. His earnings are barely enough to cover the family’s basic needs, let alone the high cost of cancer treatment in Malaysia.
Mr. Omar urgently needs RM60,000 to cover the cost of his treatment, medical examinations, follow-up care and essential medications. This amount is entirely beyond his family’s means, but it can be raised through the collective support of compassionate donors. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings him one step closer to receiving treatment and gives his family hope that their father will remain by their side.
Please do not leave Mr. Omar to face this illness alone. Contribute towards his treatment and, by the will of Allah, become a means of easing his pain and restoring hope to a family that fears losing its source of strength and support.
